Shahidul Alam is an activist, photographer, writer and curator, recipient of the Shilpakala Award, the highest national award given to Bangladeshi artists. He set up Drik and Majority World agencies, Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and the Chobi Mela festival Dhaka. Through in-depth interviews and meetings with a full range of players along the value chain, he tried to understand what created the pull and the thrust that makes migration, exploitation, and occasional prosperity.
In close cooperation with Shahidul Alam, Miriam Zlobinski worked on the project realisation, curated the exhibition, organized the translations of the texts and worked together with the graphic designer.
