Shahidul Alam is activist, photographer, writer and curator, recipient of the Shilpakala Award, the highest national award given to Bangladeshi artists. He set up the Drik and Majority World agencies, Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and the Chobi Mela festival. Through in-depth interviews and meetings with a full range of players along the value chain, I tried to understand what created the pull and the thrust that made their migration, their exploitation, and their occasional prosperity, a possibilit.
Miriam Zlobinski worked with Shahidul Alam on his projekt realisation between Bangladesh and Germany and curated the exhibition, organized the texttranslations and worked together with the grafic designer.
